His high school accolades include McDonald’s All-American and Mr. Basketball USA honors in 2005, following a state runner-up finish in his junior year, culminating in a national player of the year recognition.
Alcorn State's basketball program, under Coach Morton, recently concluded a 9-23 season, with a 7-11 record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The team advanced to the second round of the SWAC Tournament by defeating Alabama State 77-65. The Braves boast a proud history, with 18 regular-season conference championships, including recent titles in 2022 and 2023, and seven conference tournament championships, the most recent in 2002.
